Day Three in Edinburgh

Ok… we;re back!

So sorry about the delay but things were a bit manic back there for a bit.

BUT now things are going well – we have done two performances at Remarkable Arts now and today will be Day 3.

The cast are doing so well – the first performance was pretty much a dress rehearsal and a little tentative as we had never run it with lights and sound and yet it went really well. So well infact that we got 4* for our first review in The List – hurrah!!

Check out the review here – http://edinburghfestival.list.co.uk/article/36190-i-hope-my-heart-goes-first/

Yesterday was so much better and we felt that we were well and truly underway… Edinburgh here we come!!

BIG NEWS

Ok – so apologies for not updating until now although things have been mega busy at venue. We were all there all day yesterday rigging lights and teching etc. It was quite a long day all things considered but the show looked totally GREAT in the space and it made us even more excited.

The big news is that due to unforseen circumstances at the venue we are no longer previewing on Friday night but now on Saturday 6th. So any of you who were planning on coming down tomorrow make sure to come Saturday instead and if you have a ticket for Friday you can change them for any other night of the run by calling the venue on 0131 225 7001.

watch out for tomorrow when blog post will contain footage of our flash mob on the royal mile. Bring it on!!

Herald Article

We loved reading Mary Brennan’s article in the Herald today. She really manage to capture what we try and do in a lovely and succint way. Some excellent quotes from Myriam and Fran too…

every heartbeat…

Megan is back from Uganda – hurrah!!!

so you can imagine our excitement when we had her back in rehearsal today and she and lucy out the song on it’s feet for the first time.

I had a total buzz of excitement listening to it – you can hear it too – Click -song

So I have finally managed to upload the sort of ‘mini-documentary’ I filmed during our wonderful stay in London. By ‘documentary’ I pretty much mean Junction25 running loose and having an unusually fun time on a bus!

Watching all the footage back I remembered just how fun the experience was, being in such an amazing place – Battersea Arts Centre was so welcoming, just look at the beautiful tents they accommodated for us, our dreams were full of magic and fairy lights I’m sure!

I just cannot wait to do it all again. Our trip to London, and more recently Norway, have been two of the most incredible times and I have no doubt in my mind that the Edinburgh Fringe will be any different xx

Stan’s Madness

We absolutely love Stan’s performance of the Madness song ‘It must be love’ Check out rehearsal footage of this from today by clicking – stanmadness

Falling…

We started to rehearse the falling moment today – it’s always exciting to rediscover this image. For us it’s a metaphor  for risk taking – allowing yourself to take a fall and get back up again. Then – if it doesn’t work out the way you planned you fall again – and get up…

First Day of Rehearsals…

So I just got back from the first day of rehearsals for the fringe…

I think it went well – we are all pretty excited about the fringe but I guess a little nervous too. We haven’t got that much experience between us so aren’t sure what to expect. Any/all tips are most welcome! We want to make sure as many people hear about it as possible in the best possible way.

We are planing our flash mob which I think we’ll rehearse tomorrow. Then we’ll need some advice as to where to take it.

Jasmin and Claudine came in from FEST magazine, saw some rehearsals and took some photos and it was pretty reassuring to get such positive feedback. look out for their article next Tuesday!

I’ll leave you with some video footage of the shoot today.. click on -.Photoshoot in Tramway or - crymeariver to view

Myriam and I had an interview with Mary Brennan from The Herald last Friday.

We spoke about how we went about making the show, which happened over two years ago now. It was great to remember why we made what we did, and how it still holds relevance two years on.

Doing this interview reminded me how much I love this show, and how great an opportunity it is to show it at the fringe.

I’ll post the article from Mary Brennan when it’s available, just wanted to give you all a little behind the scenes on it!
